Google Says 'NO' to US Government Request to Hand Over Search Data

When the U.S. Government requested search data from the web giants, Yahoo! and MSN said "yes" and Google said "no," forcing the matter into the courts. Sarah's Year in Review: 2005

As I reminisce about the year gone by, I realize that there was a lot going on. What really stands out for me as the top tech stories of 2005 are as follows: 1. Google. Google becomes a powerhouse company, rolling out beta after beta. Some bomb (Web ... Accelerator); some are so fantastic I wonder how I lived without them (Gmail/Gmail Mobile), and some just confuse (GoogleBase). Still, Google makes it known they are a force to be reckoned with. Watch out for Google's online office suite in 2006. You know it's coming. 2. Tagging. Everyone is tagging now. Tag photos on flickr. Tag bookmarks on del. ... (view more)

From your Friends at Google

I've only been awake for a few hours, and the day just keeps getting better. At around 10 o'clock in the morning, UPS delivered my 24" LCD Flat Screen monitor ( model 2405FPW ) direct from Dell Canada. I've been waiting -- and waiting! -- for it to ... go on sale. And it was by a complete stroke of luck that I happened to see it at 20% off the retail price! I saved almost $300! I couldn't have been happier than a pig wallowing in its own poop. And if that wasn't a good enough reason to leap out of bed on a cold winter's day, a DHL courier showed up at my door a few hours later with another ... (view more)
