Wrap 920AV: Movies and Music using Sunglasses

It's not uncommon to see a person walking around town wearing sunglasses on their face or headphones in their ears. But if that person is wearing the latest pair of Vuzix sunglasses, there may be more going on under those shades than meets the eye.

While the Vuzix Wrap 920AV looks like any normal eyewear product, it also doubles as a video player. In fact, it is the first pair of glasses to use "see-through" optic technology. What does that mean? Plug the Vuzix Wrap into any digital music player, portable DVD system, or laptop and it displays video and plays audio instantly. Now you can run errands while taking your favorite movies and television shows wherever you go.

Of course, walking around while watching video content doesn't seem like the safest thing in the world to do. In response to these concerns, Vuzix has also equipped their product with something called "quantum optics technology," allowing users to watch media while still being able to see obstacles in front of them. The Wrap 920AV is versatile, weighs less than 3 ounces and even comes with removable noise-isolating earphones. It can even be used along with prescription glasses.

The Wrap 920AV runs on battery power, with up to six hours of life per charge, depending on the application.

Those interested in the product will have to wait just a few more months to own one, as the release date is set for sometime in the spring. Early price estimates have yet to be disclosed.
