Use the Organizer to Manage your Macros in MS Word

Macros that you have created in MS Word are stored in modules and modules in turn, are stored either with a document or a template.
The Organizer in MS Word is a very handy tool. As you all know, I love to have everything organized and neat and tidy and this feature helps me to accomplish that. The Organizer can be used to rename, copy, or delete macros and modules from one document to another.
Follow the steps below to learn how to manage your macros with the Organizer:
- Start the Organizer by clicking on Tools | Macro | Macros | Organizer.
- You should have the Macro Project Items tab visible. Look at the left and right side of the Organizer. You will see that each side can display modules in either a document or a template. Use the drop-down lists on either side to indicate the template or document whose macros or modules you would like to change.
- If you cannot locate the particular template or document using the drop-down lists, simply click on the Close button on one side to open up an area for viewing.
- Select the module you would like to rename, copy or delete.
- Click on the Copy button to copy the module to the other document or template. If the target file already has a module with the same name as the one being copied, you will be asked to replace it.
- Click on the Rename button to change the name of the selected module.
- The Organizer will now prompt you for a new name. Click on the Remove button to delete the module. The Organizer will ask you to confirm this action.
- Just repeat the steps for each module that you would like to change.
- Click on Close when you are finished.
Now everything is nice and tidy and organized!
