Spyware Alert! Don't Open Emails with Laptop Offers
Here's yet another good reason to pick up Spyware Doctor: a new Trojan has been sweeping the Internet via spam emails.
The spam messages actually contain attached MS Word documents, offering information about popular laptop sales from companies such as Apple, Sony, and HP. Typically, the document contains specs on laptops, such as processing speed, RAM, and even product dimensions.
The malware, named "Kukudro-A", is a host Trojan which attaches itself to the MS Word documents. Once Kukudro-A infects a PC, it presents messages with content like "worth to see", "prices", and even a simple "hello". (Source: sophos.com)
Kuku for You
Once the infected document is launched by the user, a second Trojan file is installed (named "Kuku-A"). Kuku-A attempts to bypass firewall security, download and then run specific files from an outside server. Kuku-A then gives hackers complete access to unsuspecting PCs. (Source: hackinthebox.com)
